چکیده

In this paper we investigate systematic sampling in the imagesynthesis context. Systematic sampling has been widely used in stereology to improve the efficiency of different probes in experimental design. These designs are theoretically based on estimators of 1-dimensional and 2-dimensional integrals. For the particular case of the characteristic function, the variance of these estimators has been shown to be asymptotically N−3/2, which improves on the O(N−1) behaviour of independent estimators using uniform sampling. Thus, when no a priori knowledge of the integrand function is available, like in several image synthesis techniques, systematic sampling efficiently reduces the computational cost.

Performance Evaluation of Medical Image Retrieval Systems Based on a Systematic Review of the Current Literature

Background and Aim: Image, as a kind of information vehicle which can convey a large volume of information, is important especially in medicine field. Existence of different attributes of image features and various search algorithms in medical image retrieval systems and lack of an authority to evaluate the quality of retrieval systems, make a systematic review in medical image retrieval system...

A Physical Sampling Metric for Image-based Computer Graphics

Computer models of the real world often use images of the environment to capture realistic visual complexity. Image-based modeling techniques permit the creation of geometric models with a high level of visual detail from photographs. These models are textured by resampling these images of the scene; we call this process image-based texturing. The problem with traditional image-based texturing ...

Systematic fractures analysis using image logs and complementary methods in the Marun Oilfield, SW Iran

Fractures are considered as one of the important structures in fractured reservoirs due to their effect on fluid currents and reservoirparameters such as porosity and permeability. Fracture parameters can only be directly calculated with core and image logs. Cores haveserious limitations, so image logs are the best method. The aim of this study is the systematic fractures analysis of the Asmari...

Fast Image Replacement through Texture Synthesis

We developed a system including two modules: the texture analysis module and the texture synthesis module. The analysis module is capable of analyzing an input image and performing training using this image data. The properties of principal component analysis (PCA) are used to reduce the dimensions of the data representation and to recombine the appearance of the features. Additionally, the vec...
